Position Summary

Steadfast Alliance is seeking an experienced, dependable, and safety-focused Irrigation Installation Foreman / Driver to lead irrigation installation crews on residential, commercial, and landscape construction projects throughout the area.

The Irrigation Installation Foreman / Driver is responsible for supervising daily field operations, directing crew members, coordinating installation activities, maintaining productivity and quality standards, and safely operating company trucks and equipment. This position serves as the primary field leader responsible for ensuring irrigation installations are completed correctly, efficiently, and according to project plans and company standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on irrigation installation experience, strong leadership skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities

Crew Leadership & Supervision

• Lead and supervise irrigation installation crews on assigned projects.
• Assign daily tasks and responsibilities to crew members.
• Provide clear instructions, training, and guidance to laborers and installers.
• Monitor crew productivity, attendance, work quality, and job-site conduct.
• Lead by example and maintain a professional, positive, and productive work environment.
• Train employees on proper irrigation installation techniques, tool use, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
• Communicate crew needs, challenges, material requirements, and project progress to the Project Manager or Operations Manager.
• Address routine field issues and escalate significant problems when necessary.

Irrigation Installation

• Install and oversee installation of irrigation systems according to approved plans and specifications.
• Install PVC and poly irrigation pipe, fittings, valves, sprinkler heads, drip irrigation, valve boxes, controllers, sleeves, and related components.
• Read and interpret irrigation plans, layouts, specifications, and construction details.
• Measure, lay out, cut, assemble, and connect irrigation piping and components.
• Coordinate trenching, pipe installation, sleeving, boring, backfilling, and restoration activities.
• Assist with installation and connection of irrigation controllers, valves, backflow assemblies, pumps, and other system components as applicable.
• Ensure irrigation heads, zones, valves, and components are installed in the proper locations.
• Test completed irrigation systems and make necessary adjustments.
• Identify installation problems, leaks, damaged components, pressure issues, or other deficiencies and coordinate corrective action.
• Assist with system start-up, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure installations meet company quality standards and project requirements.

Job-Site Management

• Review project plans and prepare the crew for daily work activities.
• Ensure necessary materials, tools, equipment, and supplies are available before beginning work.
• Coordinate with other trades and landscape construction crews when required.
• Protect existing landscaping, hardscapes, structures, utilities, and customer property.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and professional job site.
• Monitor project progress and communicate potential delays or material shortages.
• Complete daily field reports, crew time tracking, production information, material usage, and other required documentation.
• Take job-site photos and provide updates as requested.
• Assist with punch-list items and project closeout.

Driving & Equipment Operation

• Safely operate company trucks, trailers, and other vehicles to transport employees, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload irrigation materials and equipment.
• Operate landscape and construction equipment as authorized and trained.
• Perform routine inspections of assigned vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment.
• Report mechanical issues, damage, or maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws and company vehicle policies.
• Ensure materials and equipment are properly secured before transportation.

Safety Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong safety culture and enforce company safety procedures on the job site.
• Conduct or participate in daily safety meetings and job-site inspections.
• Ensure crew members use required personal protective equipment.
• Follow proper procedures when working around underground utilities, electrical systems, roads, vehicles, and construction equipment.
• Use appropriate procedures for trenching, excavation, pipe installation, and equipment operation.
• Report accidents, injuries, property damage, hazards, and near misses immediately.
• Stop work when unsafe conditions exist and notify management as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize hazards.

Qualifications

• 2 years of irrigation installation experience preferred.
• Previous experience as an irrigation foreman, lead installer, crew leader, or experienced irrigation installer is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation installation methods, materials, and components.
• Ability to read and understand irrigation plans and construction drawings.
• Experience with PVC pipe, poly pipe, irrigation valves, sprinkler heads, drip irrigation, controllers, and related components.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic irrigation installation and system issues.
• Previous experience supervising or leading a crew is preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to safely operate company trucks and trailers.
• Experience towing trailers is a plus.
• Experience operating skid steers, trenchers, mini excavators, or other landscape/construction equipment is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of landscape construction practices is a plus.
• Ability to use mobile applications to record daily field reports and crew time tracking.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular physical activity, including:

• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and working in confined or uneven areas.
• Digging and shoveling.
• Lifting and carrying irrigation pipe, tools, equipment, and materials.
• Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
• Working around trenches and excavation areas.
• Operating hand tools, power tools, and approved construction equipment.
• Working outdoors for extended periods in Florida's heat, humidity, sun, rain, and changing weather conditions.

Work Schedule

Typical work is Monday through Friday during daytime hours. Additional hours, overtime, or occasional Saturday work may be required based on project schedules, weather, customer requirements, and seasonal workload.

The position may require travel to various residential, commercial, and landscape construction job sites throughout the surrounding service area.
