Pay Range: $16 – 18/hr

Position Summary

Steadfast Alliance is seeking a dependable, hardworking Irrigation Installation Laborer to join our landscape installation team in San Antonio, FL.

The Irrigation Installation Laborer will assist with the installation of irrigation systems for residential, commercial, and landscape construction projects. This position involves physical outdoor work, including digging trenches, installing irrigation pipe and components, operating hand and power tools, assisting with equipment operation, and maintaining a clean and safe job site.

The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and takes pride in quality workmanship. Previous irrigation or landscaping experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation of new irrigation systems for landscape projects.
• Dig trenches and prepare areas for irrigation pipe, valves, sleeves, and other components.
• Install PVC and/or poly irrigation pipe, fittings, valves, heads, drip irrigation, and related components under direction of the Irrigation Crew Leader.
• Assist with installation of irrigation controllers, valve boxes, backflow assemblies, and other system components.
• Measure, cut, glue, connect, and assemble irrigation pipe and fittings as instructed.
• Assist with boring or sleeving irrigation lines under driveways, sidewalks, and other paved areas.
• Operate hand tools and approved power equipment used during irrigation installation.
• Assist with locating existing irrigation, utilities, and landscape features before and during installation.
• Load, unload, organize, and transport irrigation materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist with testing irrigation systems for proper operation and identifying installation issues.
• Assist with system start-up, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
• Backfill trenches and restore work areas upon completion.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and job sites.
• Follow project plans, installation instructions, and directions from the Crew Leader.
• Follow all company safety policies and properly use required personal protective equipment.
• Protect existing landscaping, structures, hardscapes, utilities, and customer property.
• Perform other duties related to irrigation and landscape installation as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous irrigation installation, landscaping, construction, or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience installing irrigation pipe, valves, sprinkler heads, drip systems, or controllers is a plus.
• Experience with PVC pipe and fittings is a plus.
• Experience operating landscape or construction equipment is a plus.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely.
• Ability to read a basic irrigation plan or willingness to learn is a plus.
• Valid driver's license is preferred.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, outdoor position requiring the ability to:

• Dig, shovel, trench, rake, lift, carry, push, and pull materials.
• Frequently bend, kneel, squat, climb, and work in awkward positions.
• Lift and carry irrigation pipe, tools, equipment, and materials.
• Work outdoors for extended periods in Florida's heat, humidity, sun, rain, and varying weather conditions.
• Safely operate or work around irrigation installation equipment and construction tools.

Work Environment

Irrigation installation work is performed primarily outdoors at residential, commercial, and landscape construction sites throughout the service area.

Employees should be prepared for physically demanding work and changing weather conditions. Safety, teamwork, attention to detail, and quality workmanship are essential.
